RAndomized Cluster Evaluation of Cardiac ARrest Systems, or RACE CARS is a clinical trial being performed in collaboration with Duke University and various counties across North Carolina. The hope is to spread knowledge and further educate bystanders and first responders in the use of CPR and AED's. Study's have found patients who received treatment within the first two minutes of cardiac arrest had a 59% survival rate vs only 13% for those who received treatment after 10 minutes.
Currently we are working with local businesses to compile a list of AED's across the county. If you have one and would like to participate, please complete the AED Locations form.
