In order to protect the health and safety of the students, advisors, volunteers, staff, and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Southern Piedmont Envirothon Committee decided to cancel the Area VIII SPE Competition which was scheduled for March 24th - 25th. In addition, the State Envirothon Committee Members decided to cancel the NC State Envirothon Competition, which was slated for April 24th - 25th.
The National Conservation Foundation (NCF) Envirothon Committee and the Nebraska Association of Resources Districts announced the cancellation of the 2020 NCF-Envirothon in order to protect the health and safety of the participants, volunteers, the staff, and the general public and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The annual event was slated for July 26th - Aug 1st in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The top priority for the organizers is the health and safety of students, advisors, volunteers, sponsors, and education partners. To protect public health, many local, state and provincial Envirothon competitions have been cancelled across North America, including the Nebraska's State competition. The NCF and other State and Provincial Envirothon program leaders continue to follow recommended guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
