Sex Offender Registry Unit

The Davidson County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registry Unit registers, tracks, and maintains records on the sex offenders that live in Davidson County. The unit consists of one full-time deputy sheriff and one office support position.

Each sex offender has the responsibility of registering at the Sheriff's Office of the county in which they live. They each are also responsible for checking in with the Sheriff's Office on a routine basis. The Sex Offender Registry unit handles each of those visits and also facilitates appropriate charges if a sex offender fails to register or does not follow the statutory requirements of their registration.

The State of North Carolina Department of Justice has published a document titled, The North Carolina Sex Offender Registry Program. This document describes the program and its many facets. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation maintains the state's sex offender registry, you can access it here.
