Commissioner Matt Mizell grew up in the town of Midway and now resides in the Arcadia community.
A graduate of North Davidson High School, Commissioner Mizell attended High Point University, graduating with a B.A. degree in Political Science. He continued his education at Wake Forest University, earning a Master’s in Education and later an MBA. Commissioner Mizell taught in the NC Public School System for four years before transitioning to a career marketing.
In his spare time, Commissioner Mizell enjoys spending time with family, hiking, exercising and pursuing his passion of history by exploring historical sites. He is also involved in the Davidson County Republican Party and is a member of Faith Church.
Commissioner Mizell is serving his first term as Commissioner, with his term expiring December 2026.
