Southern Piedmont Envirothon
On March 28th and 29th, 30 middle school teams and 27 high school teams in Area VIII, which is made up of 12 Counties, gathered at Dan Nicolas Park to compete in the Southern Piedmont Envirothon. The competition tested their knowledge and skills in the areas of aquatics, current environmental issues, forestry, soils and wildlife. Davidson County had 2 middle school teams and 1 high school team competing in this event. In the middle school competition, the High Rock Yeeter Skeeters placed 1st, and the High Rock Honey Badgers placed 4th. In the high school competition, the High Rock FFA Opossum Anglers placed 2nd. All 3 teams are from High Rock Homeschool.
State Envirothon Competition
Three teams from Davidson County qualified to compete at the State Envirothon Competition on April 28th and 29th at Cedar Rock Park in Alamance County. There were 44 middle school and 44 high school teams from across the State competing. In the middle school competition. The High Rock Yeeter Skeeters placed 1st, and the High Rock Honey Badgers placed 10th. In the high school competition, the High Rock FFA Opossum Anglers placed 6th. Congratulations to each of you!
